Welcome to my TSP 2005 page. There isn't a lot here
since it was cloudy and rained most of the week.
This is the "Upper Field" at TSP.  It is where most of the serious imagers set up as well as those with the big dobsonians.  The
biggest dobs were two 36" scopes.  One was named "The Yard Scope," and the other was "Godzilla."  By the end of the week
there were somewhere around 200 people observing on this field.  The image was taken looking from the south to the north.  To
the left and up the slight hill are cabins that can be rented.  At the far end of the field is the vendors building.  This year vendors
included Astronomy to Go, Televue (Al Nagler was there), OPT, Meade (and they brought a new RCX400 12"), Camera
Concepts, and several others.  Off to the right and out of the picture are the bunkhouses and the "Middle Field" used by
observers.  There was also a "Lower Field" at the ranch where the RV's were located.  Each field was pretty full since there were
a total of 525 astronomers in attendance.  Click on the picture to get the full sized mosaic.
David Mayeaux from the Ponchartrain Astronomy Society (PAS) in New Orleans, LA, enjoys breakfast in Fort
Davis, TX, on the first morning of the star party.
Gary Beyerstein, another PAS member from New Orleans, anticipates a nice full breakfast as well.
David Moody from the Texas Astronomical Society enjoys a Chocolate Cherry Milkshake for breakfast on Day
one.   Note the sporty McDonald Observatory ballcap and the two pens tucked securely into his shirt.  You
never know when you'll run out of ink, so it is always good to have a backup pen at all times!  Visit his website
